Our Design Assist services provide early-stage technical support to project teams, streamlining the integration of window and façade systems into architectural and structural designs. We collaborate directly with architects, developers, façade consultants, and contractors to ensure constructability, performance, and cost-efficiency from concept to construction.
Provide guidance on selecting appropriate window and door systems based on performance requirements, aesthetics, budget, and code compliance
Assist in evaluating material finishes, frame profiles, thermal break technologies, and glazing types
Recommend value-engineering options where applicable
Review architectural drawings and develop preliminary shop drawings or CAD markups
Assist in coordination of window-to-structure and window-to-cladding interfaces
Identify typical anchoring details, sill/jamb/head conditions, and waterproofing strategies
Propose solutions for challenging geometries, openings, and transitions
Advise on thermal, acoustic, air/water, and structural performance targets
Review project specs and test requirements (NFRC, ASTM, AAMA, etc.)
Identify needs for PMU/VMU mock-ups and support planning of those tests
Recommend unit sizes and configurations to optimize fabrication and shipping
Advise on tolerances, sequencing, handling, and installation feasibility
Flag potential coordination issues with other façade elements (e.g., curtain walls, louvers, sunshades)
Provide budget-level pricing guidance during SD/DD phases
Flag areas for potential cost impact based on design evolution
Collaborate with GC/CM teams for budgeting exercises and scope alignment
Draft system markups
Preliminary window schedules or take-offs
Sample detail sheets (PDF or DWG)
Thermal and performance data sheets
Technical clarifications / RFI responses
